"Kaakie and MzVee Beef a JOKE" Coz They Can't Write their Own Songs - Edem

Hiplife artist, Edem has said award winning Afropop and Dancehall musician MzVee and self acclaimed Dancehall queen Kaakie, lack what it takes to sustain a beef.
According to him, the inability of the two popular female artistes to write their own songs makes their perceived beef a joke since the alleged tension between them will be short-lived.
Some industry watchers recently claimed there was bad blood between the two artistes following the release of Kaakie’s “Sankwas” song which featured hiplife musician Guru in which she’s thought to have dissed MzVee with reference to a line in the song which says: “opposition want make we fall…them try hard to be we, but they end up skinny and lean.”
In what was seen by many as a response to the attack on her, MzVee in her new single titled “Make I Shine” claimed, Jah (God) appointed her as Ghana’s Dancehall Queen. She described Kaakie as a loudmouth, adding that she should leave her to shine.
However she has since denied her song was a reply to Kaakie.
Speaking on Celebrity fanzone with hostsJessica,Chantelle&Caroline on Viasat 1 TV over the weekend, Edem stated that Ghanains should not expect much beefing from both artistes as they can record songs hitting at themselves only if their songwriters are interested to write such songs for them.
“Kaakie has a song, Ronaldo…I wrote it, Stonebwoy writes for her. I mean it’s not wrong to write songs for people, of course it is the business of music. Richie writes for MzVee so how are you going react when a person throws a jab at you? You have to wait for your writer who doesn’t have the same emotions running to do it for you…because when there’s a beef it’s about emotions. So that is the angle from which for me I see this whole thing as a joke, because Lady Saw writes herself so when she’s taking a jab at somebody; it’s an honest jab… she’ll do justice. These people have to wait for the writer to take you and address you. So I don’t know how consistent that can be, because if your writer refuses to write a dis song then that ends it.
He added:”The reason why I’m hammering on doing it yourself is this…the thing about dance-hall is that when you see Beenie Man and Bounty Killer in battle they do it themselves, when you see Vybez Cartel and Movado battle they do themselves. I’m hammering on doing it yourself because it has to be back to back, but when people write for you it will be a one off and a one off in a battle, there’s no excitement. There has to be rounds 1, 2, 3 and then we get to see who’s withering away and who’s gaining momentum”, Edem stated.
