The 2018 edition of the annual Ghana Music Awards UK took place yesterday in London. Zylofon Cash, a subsidiary of the Zylofon Group on the 15th of June, 2018 partnered with AFS( (American Field Service) Intercultural Programs, to clean up the Korle Gonno Beach of Accra.  The exercise was an initiative of Zylofon Cash as part of its line of activities to celebrate the Ed Iftar of Muslim communities around the world. This is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to aid communities to reduce the impact of inappropriate waste disposal. Participants who joined the exercise were volunteers from AFS Ghana, a non-governmental organization aimed at connecting cultures through educational intercultural programs. The beach of Korle Gonno was covered with mostly plastic waste that had been disposed of by individuals who use the beach. At the end of the exercise, all waste deposits had been removed from the beach. Pius Kyere made headlines last year when it was announced that the St James Seminary Senior High School student had been adjudged the best student in West Africa after results for the West African Secondary School Certificate Exams (WASSCE) was released. Kyere was awarded for his brilliance with items including cash, electronics and a scholarship, and he has remained out of the public eye since. As the nation prepares to celebrate its 60th Anniversary, YFM, Ghana’s number one urban radio station hosted the biggest independence day concert with the first edition of the 2017 Area Codes Jam. Area Codes Jam is an annual entertainment show held in some selected communities around the country. The community entertainment show put together by YFM and sponsored by Guinness Ghana lit up Trade Fair in LA township with music and thrill. Public nominations for the fifth edition of the 2017 Ghana DJ Awards is now open to all DJs and the general public, organisers have disclosed.
