African Fashion and Design Week 2016 to be held in Lagos, October 7-9


Following the sucess story of last year’s fashion show in Port Harcout, African Fashion and Design Week 2016 (AFDW 2016) is back for the Lagos edition this October with the theme “Be Inspired”.
Organised by Bluepearl Services International, AFDW 2016 will take place from Friday, October 7th to Sunday, October 9th 2016 at the prestigious Oriental Hotel featuring eclectic collection from established and emerging African designers such as Weiz Dhurum Franklyn (Nigeria), Sunny Rose(Nigeria), Nallem Clothing (Ghana), Gavin Rajah (South Africa), Kahindo (Congo/USA), Mustafa Hassanali (Tanzania) many more.
Every year, African Fashion and Design Week attracts fashion enthusiasts, buyers,stylists, editors and everyone in the business of fashion to get a sneak peek of the looks that will define the continent’s next fashion trends including the prestigious annual African Icon of Hope Awards which recognises top designers from Africa.
As part of Bluepearl Services International’s vision to nurture creative independence amongst new talents in the industry, AFDW 2016 will also organise the Bluepearl Raising Stars competition. The aim of the competition is to recognise innovative and talented young designers on the continent by providing a platform to showcase their collections. Each selected participant will exhibit a much anticipated capsule collection and the winner will be awarded the ‘Bluepearl Raising Star for the year 2016’.
New and emerging fashion designers will also get the opportunity to learn and review the important elements of supply chain management and production at The Business for Fashion Seminar.

Dancehall Superstar Stonebwoy shutdown Samatex Sports Stadium in Samerboi- Western Region of Ghana on May 1, with energetic performance witnessed by a mammoth, crowd. Stonebwoy and his Bhimnation team performed for the Wood processing company 'Samatex' in private before the biggest party on the park. Ebony Promised an Underground Artiste A Record Deal and It Really Happened, Find Out The Details Here

After fast rising dancehall diva Ebony, dropped her trending single which she calls "Date Ur Fada" , many artistes have also ride on the rhythm in what they called, a replay to Ebony's song. The likes of Luther and a couple of few artistes have tried their best but the version of Brella Gh , an underground artiste, got the attention of Ebony. The 'sponsor' hitmaker was mesmerized  after listening to this young talent rode on the rhythm and murdered it with his own version called "Play u gala". She saw a very unique talent in the young man and so, promised to help get him a record deal. "Somebody find this guy for me.i want to help him get a record deal.the best reply so far to my date ur fada and i think he is talented#dateurfada" she wrote .   This appears as a joke to many but God being so good, Ebony really fulfilled  her promise and Brella Gh got signed onto Rufftown Records.
