Spanish Giants FC Barcelona have made it to the quater finals of the UEFA Champions League in what seem to many as impossible after scoring French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain a whooping 6 - 1 at Camp Noun.
The win overturned a 4-0 first leg loss
suffered by the former champions in Paris on February 14.
Goals from the Blaugrana striking trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis
Suarez contributed to the win.
They qualified on a 7-6 aggregate win.
The Catalans began the onslaught in the third minute with Uruguayan
striker Luis Suarez finding the back of the net.
An own goal by Layvin Kurzawa after a fine work by captain Andres
Iniesta in the 40th minute saw the Spaniards go on break with a halved
deficit.
A second half penalty converted by Lionel Messi in the 50th minute put
Barcelona in pole position to cancel the first leg loss.
But things were made difficult by Edinson Cavani, who pulled one back
for the French side.
However, Brazilian playmaker Neymar converted a penalty with a few
minutes to go while Sergi Roberto finished it off for Barcelona, putting
the score at 6-1 at the blast of the referee’s final whistle.
By the result, Barcelona become the first side in the League to overturn
a 4-0 first leg loss to qualify from the Round of 16.
