Top Ten Ghanaian Music Producers and their unique sig tunes (signature tunes), You Must Know

We all enjoy music everyday, either by palying it ourselves or listening to it being played on radio or television. But its so pathetic that only a few people can identify the producers behind the rhythms we enjoy and dance to.

That's too bad! but worry nomore because today i bring to you my top ten Ghanaian Music Producers and their unique sig tunes (signature tune). Before i proceed, i would like to define what a signature tune is. The Cambridge dictionary defines a sig tune as "a short tune used in broadcasting at the beginning and/or end of a particular programme or to mark the appearance of a particular performer"

In the context of this article, a sig tune can be considered as that short tune which producers play in their beats at the beginning or end of songs. Sig tunes identifies every producer's work. At number one is:


1. Hammer of The Last Two
Edward Nana Poku Osei aka Hammer is the boss of  The Last Two records and he is popularly known for producing sick Hiphop beats. He has produced so many hit song from his Last Two studios and he has an enviable bragging-right of, the only producer who has discovered, groomed and nurtured many music talents in Ghana. Hammer's sig tune is "Last Two!". So anytime you're listening to a song and you hear Last Two in it, know its produced by Hammer of The Last Two.

2. Jay Q
Jay Q whose real name is Jeff Tennyson Quaye, is a Record producer, sound engineer, keyboardist, songwriter, record executive and the boss of Jay-Qlex Recording Studio. He mainly produce Hiplife,Highlife and Gospel song, he has many albums to his credit.
Jay Q is the only producer known for breaking bottles in his beats, his sig tune is " Jay Q!" whenever you hear a broken bottle sound with 'Jay Q' know its his hand work. You remember Mzbel's 16years song?

3. Appietus
Appietus' real name is Appiah Dankwah, he is a musician, music producer, sound engineer and the boss of creative records. He is known for producing Highlife, Hiplfe, gospel and azonto songs, he has produced many albums in his career and still counting. Appietus' sig tune is "Appietus in the Mix"

4.  Kaywa
David Kyei known in showbiz as Kaywa is also a Ghanaian sound engineer and music producer who has produced a lot of hit songs. His productions are mainly hiplife,highlife, azonto and gospel. Kaywa's sig tune is "Ano no what i go talk oo, kas3 kaywa" which he currently changed to "Highly Spiritual". All his recent productions can be identified by "Highly Spiritual"

5.Wei ye Oteng
Justice Oteng popularly known for  his sig tune  Wei ye Oteng, is also a sound engineer, music producer and the boss of Drum lyne studios based in Accra. Oteng mainly produces Highlife and comtemporary Gospel sounds, he's known for the sig tune "Wei wei wei ye Oteng"

6. Shatta Wale (Bandana)
Charles Nii Armah Mensah known in showbiz circus as Shatta Wale is a dancehall musician, sound engineer, music producer and the boss of SM studios. He produces, mix and master at least 98% of  his songs himself untill recently he get beats from other producers. Shatta's sig tune is "The Maker"

7. Magnom
Magnom's real name is Joseph Bulley, he is an artist and records producer, his productions are mainly sick Hiphop tunes, dancehall and afrobeats. His sig tune is "mama Magnom", he has produced many hit song,one of his gratest works is Edem's egboame remix.

8. Willis Beatz
William Osafo also known as Willisbeatz is a Music Producer and a Dj based in Takoradi, his productions are mainly Hiplife, Afrobeats and contemporary Gospel. He has worked with many A-list artist in Ghana. His sig tune is simply "Willisbeatz". He is the producer of shatta wales' current hit song 'Taking over'.


9. Master Garzy 
Benjamin Nana Mensah aka master Garzy is also a talented Ghanaian Music producer and a performer, he has produced many hit songs for A-list artist such as VVIP, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Jupitar etc. His sig tune is "Mix Master Garzy!"

10. Danny Beatz
Daniel Owusu Agyapong popularly known as Danny Beatz is a young talented Music producer and Musician, he produces hiplife, afrobeats and azonto. His sig tune is "Danny Beatz", he has worked with many award winning artist in Ghana. You remember Guru's Nkwadaa Nkwadaa and Kpa kpa kpa? he was the producer.
