Liverpool Football Club has completed a transfer deal to sign Southampton player Virgil Van Dijk over Manchester City for a world record of £75 Million.
The center-back, who has remained Jurgen Klopp’s priority target since the summer and opted to move to Anfield back then as well, will officially join Liverpool on January 1 when the transfer window re-opens.
Negotiations speedily progressed between the sides after a long process of the Reds repairing the relationship with their counterparts following a tapping-up saga in June that drew a public apology and the Saints refusing to sanction his sale.
Van Dijk is set to earn £180,000 per week and will be rocking the no.4 shirt in the Reds camp.
