Impressive! Zylofon Donates Gh1Million To Train Axim Youth

Some two thousand youth in Axim in the Western Region and its environs would be trained with vocational, technical and creative skills courtesy Nana Appiah Mensah’s Zylofon Media Group.

Zylofon has donated an amount of GHC1Million to sponsor the training programme and also to rehabilitate a multipurpose training complex.

The programme an initiative between Zylofon Media on one hand and Catherine Ablema Afeku, the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Arts, who doubles as Parliamentarian for the area on the other hand.

“Part of the money would be used in training the youth in the areas of technical, vocational and creative arts skills. That is the only way they can become employable and our vision of making Ghana prosper can be made possible. If people have jobs, if people are employable if people are making an income for themselves, then we are happy because these are clear signs of prosperity”, a statement from the Zylofon Arts Fund, the wing that gave out the money noted.

The statement said the initiative forms part of Zylofon’s Social Corporate Responsibility and the vision of the Chief Executive, Nana Appiah Mensah, to create one million jobs across the country.

The news was warmly received when it was announced to the beneficiaries at a brief ceremony in Axim last Saturday.

The MP, Catherine Afeku said the challenge of training the youth with employable skills has been a huge one because it costs money which is scarce.

“This comes in handy and useful because there are several young persons who are eager to get some skills training but they do not have the financial ability…. I have personally, on my own, sponsored many of them and today they are employed.
“This fund would help us train some more and the modules are in the areas of carpentry, fashion designing, plumbing, catering, bricklaying, videography and other creative arts wings. As you can see, registration is already ongoing and because we have hit the ground running”, Catherine Afeku noted at the unveiling ceremony in Axim last Saturday.

Zylofon Media, headed by Ghanaian business magnate, investor, and philanthropist, Nana Appiah Mensah. The group runs the Zylofon Arts Fund, Zylofon Cash, Zylofon Music, Zylofon Films, Zylofon Events, ZET Cinema, Zylofon Arts Club, Zylofon Fm and Zylofon TV
