Nana Appiah Mensah takes legal action against 4syte Tv for Publishing FAKE news About him (read statement)
The CEO of Menzgold Ghana and Zylofon group, Nana Appiah Mensah aka NAM1 has taken a legal action against 4syte TV for spreading a fake news about him.
4syteTV, a Ghanaian owned entertainment tv station published on their airwaves that Nana Appiah will be contesting for the high office of the presidency in Ghana on the ticket of the NDC party and will be declaring his intentions to contest today.
I saw the publication myself and I knew it was misleading for NAM1 according to the constitution of Ghana didn't qualify age-wise to be president and he has made it clear few months ago that, he has no intentions to be involved in partizan politics.
Well, the man has responded to the news saying its FAKE and also revealed that he has asked his legal team to write to 4sytetv demanding a retraction and apology.
He is so disappointed that a whole media house could not contact him before putting out such a story which is against the ethics of journalism.
Read his statement below:
FAKE NEWS ALERT
My attention has been drawn to some fake news by 4syte TV this morning suggesting I would be running 2020 Presidential Elections.
I wish to state that the report is false and has no basis in fact.
4syte TV made no attempt to contact me before they published the news and this is completely against the ethics of good journalism.
For the umpteenth time, let me state that I am not interested in partisan politics.

To action my decision, I have instructed our legal team to formally write to 4SyteTv to seek a retraction and an apology.
This is our last effort as all attempts we have made so far to get them to retract and apologise over the fake news has proven futile.
While I support the work of the media in the country, I would also urge extreme circumspection and diligence as fake news has the tendency of giving the wrong impression.@4sytetv #fakeNews
