Spanish giants FC Barcelona yesterday thrashed country rivals Sevilla 6 goals to 1 in the second leg quarterfinals of the 2018/2019 Copa Del Ray to glide into the Semifinals for the ninth season in a row.
It was a great comeback for the Catalans after suffering a 2 - 0 defeat last week in the first leg at Sevilla. The second leg at the Camp Nou looks very easy for Barcelona as they score Sevilla thrilling 6 - 1 and closing it all up on 6 -3 aggregate.
Philipe Coutinho nets a brace, while Ivan Rakitic, Sergi Roberto, Luis Suárez and Leo Messi notch a goal each, as Barça easily overturn 1st leg deficit and roll into the Copa del Rey semis; Jasper Cillessen was superb in the net, stops a penalty in winning effort.
The second leg saw newly loaned Ghanaian international and former Sassulo midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng dropped to the bench as Barcelona played a full squad of Messi, Suarez, Coutinho in the forward, Arthur, Rakitic and Busquets in the midfield, Alba, Pique, Lenglet and Roberto in the attack and Cillessen in the post.
Coutinho's opener came early in the 13th minute after Messi was taken down in the area resulting in a penalty.
At the end of it all, Catalans were just too much for Sevilla, overcoming a 2- 0 aggregate deficit from last week's first leg to go through to the semis with a 6 -1 (6 - 3 aggregate)
