Audio: Give Ebony A Break! Miss Ghana Dresses Worse - Samini

Ghanaian dancehall greatest Samini, has thrown a staunch support behind the seductive and semi-naked dressing syle of fast-rising dancehall diva Ebony. According to him, what ebony is doing is purely dancehall and entertainment and he sees nothing wrong with it and moreover he has seen more worse dressing from reality shows which can not be compared to that of Ebony's. Ebony the 'sponsor' hitmaker has come under critical criticism after a video of her surfaced online where she is almost naked on the 4syte MVAs red carpet which got industry people and the general public talking, but the 'my own' singer Samini, thinks she's on point and people should just give her a break because those making noise about it loves it. "Oh what Ebony is doing is dancehall, its entertainment and i see nothing bad about it, because when you take a look at Miss Ghana, they do swim-wear, and the things they wear is far worse than Ebony's, so i think people should

Add Pigin to the Curriculum and Formalise it - Edem

Following the pigin tweet the president of Ghana HE Akufo Addo tweeted which has gone viral, rapper and boss of VRMG Edem, is calling for pigin to be added to school curriculum and formalised so that people can speak it more comfortably. Speaking with Arnorld Mensah Elavanyo on Vibes in 5, the rapper opined if pigin is being formalised it will aid in business transactions and also help to bridge communication gaps between Ghana and its neigbouring countries. "Its awaking call for us that, we don't have to let colonial masters set the standards for how we communicate, because not long ago if you're speaking pigin, it means you're a dropout, so now if the father of the nation is speaking in pigin, then it means that we are moving somewhere, where Africa can become a continent that deals in every engagement in pigin and i think that will be one of the biggest boarders for us to break, where you enter Nigeria and you speak comfortably with everybody, you enter

Edem Skips Sark To Choose Tinny as his Best Rapper

The battle of who is the greatest or the best rapper in GH has been on for a while now and it seems not ending any soon. With everyone naming his own best rapper everyday, coupled with the controversies that comes with it, its getting so interesting. Rapper Edem has named Tinny as his best rapper over Sarkodie, who the masses root for as the best rapper of our time. In an interview with Arnorld Mensah Elavanyo on Vibes in 5, a question was put to him, who is your best rapper excluding yourself. He answered by saying: "This is going to make a lot of trouble for me, because am in a political position when it comes to Hip Hop, my view counts, I will take it in three parts, of all time is Obrafour , he's somebody i look up to, if i wouldn't go for him, i would have gone for Okonfor Kwade. Between my era, when i say my era is myself, Tinny, Sarkodie, i will still go for Tinny even though lately he is not rappering a lot." Edem also mentioned StrongMan,

Audio: Shatta Wale and Co Needs Monster Hits to Survive - Sarkodie

Over the weekend, Sarkodie held the launch of his annual Rapperholic Concert slated for 25th December. The launch which took place at the Samsung Theatres had the press, other media personalities present.  One of the questions that was thrown to Sarkodie that drew our attention was from entertainmentgh owner Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo who asked: I want to find out why you’ve not produced another monster hits in the last three years? Sarkodie answered by saying, “There are types of artiste and you need to identify your strength first. If you take a Davido, a Wizkid, R2bees, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale. Shatta Wale does both what I do and what I’m about to explain. Their major strength is a monster hit. They need that to survive in a way. So, if as an artiste I choose to go on that path, which sometimes it will work cause I know the formula. But when you choose that you need to be ready for the pressure that comes with it or you have core fans who love you for what you really stand for and th

Channel the Energy Over Ghana/Naija Jollof Battle Into Promoting Your Music in Nigeria - Bisola Tells GH Musicians

Nigerian actress Bisola Aiyeola who rose to fame after a spell in the Big Brother Naija (BBN) TV reality show, advised that Ghanaian musicians should invade the Nigerian market by going for radio/TV tours to promote their works. The actress who is also a singer, said Ghanaian musics are played in Nigeria contrary to what was believed in Ghana that, Nigerians don’t play Ghanaian music at all. The perception that has been created by some industry players has led to their demand for Ghanaian DJs and radio/TV presenters to push more Ghanaian music to be as relevant on the African scenes as Nigerian music has. Its well known in Ghana that Nigerian music enjoys a lot of airplay almost rubbing shoulders with the amount of airplay Ghanaian music enjoys. This achievement by Nigerians has propelled them to be giants of Highlife music in Africa or afrobeat. A spot Ghana enjoyed in the 70s.   In an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz Fm, the BBN star stated that Ghanaian Artistes should avail t

I Take The Biggest Risk Whenever I collaborate With Other Rappers - Sarkodie

When it comes to “The Highest” you just bow down to greatness. Apparently one of the ridiculous statements I make when it comes to Ghana’s own rap King, Sarkodie. Arguably the most decorated Ghanaian artiste, Sarkodie born Michael Owusu Addo has had a busy year, with the latter releasing his 5th studio album “Highest” and making moves with it. The rapper who is currently on a nationwide campus tour with MTN Ghana recently granted an interview with BBC’s DJ Edu on “Destination Africa” show. An interview, Ghana's showbiz hub www.elormonline.com followed attentively, because we care about our industry and we follow our players keenly. Listening to the show, VGMA Artiste of the year (2010, 2012) stated that rappers do collaborations with competition in mind, “When it comes to rappers, we think more of, who’s going to stand out and not how good the song is supposed to be. There’s no way Tekno will go like, make sure you don’t kill it. Because he feels like there’s no competition

We Have Diluted The Content Of Our Raps Because Of Money – Sarkodie

Ghanaian rap artiste Sarkodie who released his fourth studio album 8th September this year, in an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra in the UK has confess that, rappers have diluted their contents because of the money. Speaking with DJ Edu on “Destination Africa”, the rapper who embarks on a UK tour from 23rd – 25th November, said “Rap music stood for the voiceless. It was to speak about stuffs that people feel difficult not to touch on, but we came in fearlessly and touched on those issues. It’s our responsibility.” The 2012 BET award winner spoke passionately about rap music and how it had struggled to be relevant in Africa but now rubbing shoulders with AfroBeat which is the new trend. “Initially it used to be the singers because the singers stand out, this is afrobeat world as at now, so for rappers to have a space in there, we have like a tinny space we need to fit in. Cause music itself is based on the guys on the hook and that’s where you can find people like the Stonebwoys,

MY GREATEST REGRET IN LIFE IS HONORING A JOY FM INVITAION - A-PLUS FUMES

Kwame Asare Bediako popularly known as A-Plus, has divulged his greatest ever regret during an interview with Dr. Pounds on “Hitz High Table” on Friday 3rd November edition. With a gay attitude during the beginning of the interview, he told the host how he charges up to GHS15,000 for an interview hence his preference to communicate through Facebook more than making himself available for the traditional media. He stressed that traditional media is gradually fading away and if the media don’t pay artistes for interviews to enrich their contents, these artistes may soon be using their social media accounts as communication tool. The comedian who apparently had a lot to say threw some few shades here and there as usual. This led the host to ask him a lot of sensitive questions which he answered without blinking an eye. The musician turned politician then recounted how unfair the host of JOY FM’s morning show has treated him after honoring their invitation. According to hi

Photos: A Huge Hippopotamus Captured in River Oti in the Northern region

The people of Damanko township in the northern region of Ghana couldn't believe their eyes when a huge hipopotamus was captured in river Oti last week. According to an eye, the animal has become a nuisance to the millet farmers along the bank of the river, it grazes a large potion of their millet plantation. After carefully monitoring how it graze, its foot steps and where it passes to the farm, the farmers are convinced that its a hippopotamus that was destroying their crops. Knowing how huge the animal is and fear, they invited a powerful hunter from Togo who is also a native of Damanko to hunt it down. The hunter went to the farm area and in some fierce encounter, he was able to kill it. The hunter said he saw the animal from a distance and before he could realise, its just a few metres closer to him so he hid within the millet (Juju at play) and gave it one shot and down it fell dead. amazingly there are n

How Can I Minister To You About God's Blessings When I Wear Shabby Clothing- Joyce Blessing Reply Critics

Gospel artiste Joyce Blessing has responded to the criticisms and backlashes she had after her performances at Becca @10 concert, held at the national theatre regarding her dress. Speaking with Andy Dosty on Hitz Fm, the "Unbreakable" hitmarker explains that, she was shocked at the backlashes she got on social media about her outfit because, the dress she wore was not exposing any parts of her body. She said some people were saying she over-dressed for the event and according to her that is funny because, she is a minister of the good news, she preaches through her music about God's kindom and the goodness it comes with so how can she convince someone about the blessings they will get when they follow Christ when she herself is dirty or wearing shabby cloths? "There are a lot of criticism about me, but the one which shocked me and i can't think far is they say i over dressed, even in my music videos i wear African prints and i don't seem to understan
